Hey They PEED On My Savior
February 11th, 2006
Typically, I try to keep the Brown Sludge blog in it’s niche.
I blog about what I’m passionate about.
Corporatism. Corporate Greed. Corporate America. How The Right has lost it’s way and sold it’s soul on these issues. How I wish they’d find redemption. How I wish they’d find it before the next election cycle.
I’m a Right Winger – but I don’t blog much about the dichotomy between The Left and The Right. There are other blogs out there that are on top of that – and frankly they are more connected and do a much better job at pointing out the abysmal failures of The Left and their stale and failed ideologies.
So… I’ve stayed out of this whole “Danish Cartoon” bruhaha.
You might say that Brown Sludge doesn’t have a “dog in that fight”. Michelle Malkin is covering it and covering it hard – and I don’t imagine many people could do as passionate or as thorough a job as she has.
Yes… I’ve taken issue with a couple of her stances on Corporate Greed because I respect her and her work so much. If she’d been a left-wing nut-case I’d have written her off as a loony and moved on.
But… she’s posted something on her site that touches the Brown Sludge ethic a bit – and I’d like to take a minute to mention it.
Never the brightest crayon in the box - apparently CNN has made the ridiculous decision to “pixelize” the cartoons that Islam has lost it’s mind over, and either due to a misplaced sense of political correctness or (more likely) mordant fear of being attacked by members of “The Religion Of Peace” they’ve turned their back on their own First Amendment Rights.
This prompted Lou Dobbs to openly snicker (as in on the air – during his award winning financial newscast) at his employer – and point out the BFO (Blindingly Friggin’ Obvious) point that you can’t have an honest discussion about the images unless you’re going to examine them openly. Duh.
Miss Malkin mentions this and although not exactly an “Atta Boy Lou” she links to this article that sort of does.
I guess my point is this… I’ve heard so many people on the Right villify and run Lou Dobbs down because he has the unmitigated balls to stand up and say that what Corporate America is doing to this country is wrong and often so hideous that it’s criminal – yet when he says something that the Right thinks is “Right On” they’re quick to pat him on the back.
I’m guessing Lou doesn’t let any of it get to him. He seems like that kinda guy.
If you really want a little perspective on the whole “Danish Cartoon” issue – don’t forget that they PEED on MY Saviour.
After the initial outrage and indignation, Christians collectively took a step back, and prayed for Andres Serrano’s soul, because… well… we were worried that what he’d done would keep him out of Heaven.
Christians are silly about Forgiveness that way.
