Cartoonist Wiley Miller gets some serious wood on the ball with this hilarious single panel :

Laugh… I thought I’d Die.

In the interest of staying “legal” and respecting Wiley’s copyright - I posted a link vs. just pasting the panel.

I’ve asked for permission to post it outright. I will if I get it.

Update :

Permission denied (more or less). I was told that it would require me paying a fee of $100.00 a quarter to post the cartoon indefinitely. That means that every 90 days I would owe them $100.00 - in perpetuity.

Looks like the link will have to do.

I’m gonna write to Wiley directly and point out the staggering irony of wanting to post his cartoon about what greedy bastages big corporations can be - on a site that concerns itself with what greedy bastages big corporations can be - only to be told by his syndicate that I’d have to pony up hundreds of dollars FOREVER for the privilege.

Brown Sludge indeed.

Heard back from The Man himself.

His response?

Basicially it was “Well… it is a business after all.”

I’m disappointed. Somehow I expected more.

Love his work too much to fuss about it.

I guess no one is safe from The Brown Sludge Monster.

I see now the link has expired, which is a shame because it was a truly funny strip. Had I been given permission to reprint it it would still be here making people laugh and standing as testimony Wiley’s creativeness and maybe even winning him new readers. But… now it’s just a dead connect that nobody can see.

Shame that.
